Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Duel Synapse: KodeX is an independent card reference and rulings app developed by Meta Insider OCG (“we,” “us,” or “our”). For privacy questions, contact metainsiderocg@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

KodeX does not require an account and does not ask you to provide your name, email address, phone number, precise location, or other personal profile information to use its core features. The app does not include advertising or analytics SDKs.

When the app connects to kodex.meiocg.org, the server receives the network request needed to deliver card database and rulings content. As with ordinary internet connections, hosting or network providers may process technical connection information (such as an IP address, request time, and requested resource) to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the service. We do not use KodeX to build advertising profiles.

3. Information stored on your device

KodeX stores app preferences and feature data locally on your device, which may include:

• Theme and text-size preferences.
• Favorites, search or browsing history, and other saved app settings, where those features are used.
• Cached card data and rulings or files you choose to download for later access.
• A custom wallpaper image you select, along with its display settings.
• Synapse AI’s play book in the Duel Arena: the lines you play with your decks, so the AI opponent can learn them.

This information is stored using browser/WebView storage (including local storage and IndexedDB). It is not sent to us as a user profile. It may be removed if you clear the app’s storage, uninstall the app, or your device or WebView clears its data. Offline availability depends on what has already been cached or downloaded.

4. How information is used

Information handled by KodeX is used to provide the app’s card search and rulings features, remember your preferences, save selected content locally, and maintain the availability and security of the service. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use the app’s locally stored preferences or history for targeted advertising.

5. Sharing and third-party services

KodeX requests card database and rulings content from kodex.meiocg.org. The app does not intentionally transmit your locally saved favorites, history, theme preferences, or wallpaper to that service.

Card scanner: when you scan a card with the camera or choose a photo, the app sends that picture (a single downscaled image, not video) to kodex.meiocg.org, which passes it to an image-recognition service to read the card’s printed name and numbers. The picture is used only to identify the card. We do not store it or link it to you; a short-lived copy of the result may be cached by our server so the same picture is not read twice. The camera is used only while the scanner is open, and if the online service is unavailable the app identifies cards on your device instead.

Synapse AI learning (Duel Arena): when “Share my plays to teach Synapse AI for everyone” is on (it is on by default and can be turned off in the Arena lobby), the Arena sends kodex.meiocg.org anonymous counts of plays made in duels, such as “after summoning card A, the player activated card B,” “this card’s effect fetched card C,” and “card D was used in response to card E.” Only card codes, action types and counts are sent: no names, account details, chat, deck lists or device identifiers. In online rooms, this includes the plays of both players in the room. The counts are combined with everyone else’s to help the AI opponent play each deck. Turning the option off stops sending; your own device keeps learning locally.

The app may provide links to third-party websites or social media. If you open one, that service’s own privacy policy and practices apply. We do not control third-party websites.

6. Data retention and deletion

Locally stored KodeX data remains on your device until you remove it, clear the app/WebView storage, or uninstall the app. You can manage or remove it through your device’s app settings. Technical connection logs, if maintained by hosting or network providers, are governed by the applicable provider’s retention and security practices.

7. Security

We take reasonable steps in designing and operating KodeX to limit the information it handles. No app, device, or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. Keep your device and app environment protected, particularly if your device is shared with other people.

8. Children’s privacy

KodeX is a general card-reference utility and is not designed to collect personal information from children. The app does not require account registration. If you believe personal information has been provided to us in connection with KodeX, contact metainsiderocg@gmail.com so we can review the request.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app’s features or legal requirements change. The revised version will be published on this page with an updated effective date. Please review this page periodically.
